All Souls Trilogy
My cousin recommended this trilogy. I'm currently reading the first book, A Discovery of Witches. Initially, I had to re-start the book a couple of times because I couldn't get past the first 20 pages. It has a bit of a slow start but now I'm about 200 pages in. There is a romantic relationship between a vampire and a witch. The relationship reminds me a lot of the relationship between Bella and Edward, but that doesn't bother me. It actually makes me want to get a vampire boyfriend. The book is a fast and easy read so if that's what you're currently looking for then have at it. I plan on reading the trilogy.

The Fault in Our Stars
http://www.hypable.com/2013/01/30/fault-in-our-stars-movie-director/
By Andrew Sims at 11:45 am, January 30, 2013 - @Sims
New comments from The Fault in Our Stars movie producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey indicate that the production is moving along at a good pace, and we get to hear how involved author John Green is with the project.
“He’s very involved. He’s read every draft. We talk to him all the time,” Bowen said in a new interview with MTV. “He loves the script, feels that we’ve captured everything that we could have hoped to capture in the book, so I think fans will be really happy with it.”
Funnily enough, MTV referenced John Green’s personal endorsement of actress Mae Whitman taking on the role of Hazel. That endorsement was spawned after we released our fantasy casting choices, which Whitman had shared on her own Twitter and Green replied to.
The producers noted that no casting choices will be made until a director is on board, which presumably will happen in the next few weeks if there are plans to start this summer. “It’s tricky; you always want to do it with a director. We won’t pick an actor without the director,” said Godfrey. “The director really should be at the center of that, but the great news is we have our choice of the best actresses and actors of their generation.”
Speaking of The Fault In Our Stars‘ director, we have reason to believe Stephen Chbosky, author and director of The Perks of Being a Wallflower, may be up for the role.

I love love love this book and I love Augustus Waters. Did I mention I love this book? I was on an emotional roller coaster with this book including crying on public transportation. I couldn't help myself. Yes I know I'm an effin loser. I just hope the movie doesn't disappoint because movie adaptations usually do. Here are some quotes from the book (Yes I feel like a teeny bopper right now):
“As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book. And then there are books like An Imperial Affliction, which you can't tell people about, books so special and rare and yours that advertising your affection feels like betrayal”
“Some infinities are bigger than other infinities.”
"That's the thing about pain...it demands to be felt.”
"I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
"My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations."
“You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world...but you do have some say in who hurts you. I like my choices.”
“What a slut time is. She screws everybody.”
“Some people don't understand the promises they're making when they make them," I said.
"Right, of course. But you keep the promise anyway. That's what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway.”
"Right, of course. But you keep the promise anyway. That's what love is. Love is keeping the promise anyway.”
"There will come a time when all of us are dead. All of us. There will come a time when there are no human beings remaining to remember that anyone ever existed or that our species ever did anything. There will be no one left to remember Aristotle or Cleopatra, let alone you. Everything that we did and built and wrote and thought and discovered will be forgotten and all of this will have been for naught. Maybe that time is coming soon and maybe it is millions of years away, but even if we survive the collapse of our sun, we will not survive forever. There was time before organisms experienced consciousness, and there will be time after. And if the inevitability of human oblivion worries you, I encourage you to ignore it. God knows that’s what everyone else does.”
“You realize that trying to keep your distance from me will not lessen my affection for you. All efforts to save me from you will fail.”

My Beloved World- Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor
Obviously, five months are about to go by and I haven't written jack shit. I have been reading but I'm always busy. Isn't that everyone's excuse? I'm too busy. I have to cancel because so and so came up. Can we reschedule I had a horrible day at work? I've done this and then I regret it. I love being around family and friends. I've been thinking about the blog and telling my lazy ass self that I would get on it again and I kept putting it off to watch tv. I wish I could say I was on a 5 month vacation in Europe or I've been doing something productive like saving the world but NO. I've just been going out and getting drunk. Anyways, one of my line sisters sent me a text today because she randomly came across my blog and told me I had a nice blog. She was my inspiration for starting this blog and I took it as a sign that I should probably post something (Shout out to Banana).
I recently purchased Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's book (My Beloved World). I haven't gotten a chance to read it yet, but there will be a book signing tomorrow at the Harold Washington Library in Chicago starting at 6PM. No need to make reservations but it is on a first come basis. You can bring your own book or purchase one there. I'll be there and I'm excited to see her and hear her speak. I can't wait.
