Last night, I was watching Pawn Stars on the History Channel and they purchased and sold a first-edition copy of Hemingway's "For Whom the Bell Tolls." I can't even imagine paying that much for a book, but then again I don't have that kind of fuckin' money to spend on a book. It would be nice to have a first-edition of "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in my book collection. One can only dream. I buy used books, get them as gifts (best gift to give me in case any of you want to buy me a gift), download on my nook and occasionally buy a book at full price. If I buy a book at full price its on impulse. I can't help myself and I don't just come out with one book. The Pawn Stars episode got me thinking that I haven't read much Hemingway. I've only read the The Sun Also Rises and A Moveable Feast. Recently, I read Paula McLain's "The Paris Wife" which is about Hemingway and his first wife Hadley Richardson. The first link below is to The Pawn Stars episode. The second link is to the Ernest Hemingway Museum in Oak Park in case you live in the Chicagoland area.

NEXT BOOK?

Should this be my next read? Please comment.
SYNOPSIS FROM AMAZON: The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.
But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway—a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love—a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.
True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involved, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

I read this book with my book club a couple of months ago. I know Leonardo DiCaprio is starring in the movie. Does anyone know the release date?
